Sensei Denver Moonsamy is a highly accomplished and dedicated karate instructor, 5th Dan Black Belt, and Head of Cobra Karate Dojo with over 28 years of experience in karate and 16 years of teaching. He is widely recognized for his leadership roles within the International Federation of Funakoshi Shotokan Karate (IFFSK), WUKF South Africa, and MASA KZN, as well as his outstanding achievements as a multiple gold and silver medalist at international championships including the FSKA World Championships in Las Vegas and Sun City.
He is Japanese graded, a qualified Senior Coach WUKF EQF Level 6, an accredited WUKF referee, first aid accredited, and safeguarding certified. Sensei Denver has successfully established dojos in Phoenix and Chatsworth while mentoring and producing 18 black belts over the past decade. Having trained under world-renowned karate masters such as Hanshi Eric Govender, Shihan Aidan Trimble, Sensei Dave Hazzard, Kancho Kenneth Funakoshi, Shihan Kevin Funakoshi, and Hanshi Rikuta Koga, he continues to be a respected leader, mentor, and ambassador for karate development in South Africa and internationally.
